The week beginning 12th April 2021 saw lots of businesses reopening to the public after a very strange year. It also saw the foodbank reopening for collections by our clients from both the Howe Road warehouse and the Elim Ryedale Church Centre, Castlegate in Malton. It has been a slow but steady start to this new service, and whilst it is not quite the same as before COVID restrictions, it is still fantastic to have contact once again with our clients. As always, this step forward, and all the work the foodbank does, would not be possible without our volunteers. All the time they donate to us each week, adds up to a massive team effort that enables families in Ryedale to breathe easy, knowing we can help if things get tough. We know as things reopen and life gets “back to normal” it can be difficult to keep up the routine of masks and sanitizing. We must stress how important it is to do so though, to keep everyone safe.
